  • When you get the Unable to update software message on the Roku 2 device, you need to select the Try Updating Again option.
  • After a few minutes, update your Roku 2 software manually.
  • Check whether the Roku 2 device is connected to the secured network. Go to Choose your Networks -> Scan again to see all networks to check the wireless name of your network.
  • Make sure to enter the correct password to establish the network connection between the router and the Roku 2 device.
  • If you are not able to resolve the Roku 2 update problem, check your wireless router. Place your wireless router nearer to the Roku 2 device.

  • Check if your server is down or undergoing maintenance process.
  • If so, wait for the maintenance process to complete.
  • Similarly, if you see a trend on your server connection, then wait for it to release the services and try connecting after a while.

  • If not, then change your Network Security Protocol.
  • On your computer, open your wireless router’s settings wizard using the 192.168.8.1 IP address.
